History

Desert Hot Springs High School opened on September 7, 1999, with an initial enrollment of 642. The school began with freshmen and sophomores and added a class each year with graduating its first class of 162 seniors in June 2002. Desert Hot Springs High School serves students from the communities of Desert Hot Springs, North Palm Springs, Sky Valley, and the unincorporated areas of Painted Hills and Mission Lakes.

Sports

Desert Hot Springs High School is in the De Anza League athletic conference.

The school made history in 2017 when the Desert Hot Springs High School Boys Tennis team made it to CIF Southern Section playoffs for the first time ever. They played versus Moreno Valley in the first round, which they won 13-5. Ultimately, they fell short in the second round to number 1 seed, Magnolia High School (California) losing the match 11-7.
