The White Tank Freeway is a planned freeway in the far northwest region of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, currently under study by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to address expected long-term growth and development in the area. If constructed, the roadway would serve as a controlled-access expressway connecting Loop 303 in Surprise with the planned alignment of future Interstate 11 adjacent to the Hassayampa River. The freeway is named after the nearby White Tank Mountains.

Route description

The exact route of the freeway has yet to be determined, but the corridor currently under study by ADOT has the western terminus at the planned alignment of the Hassayampa Freeway (I-11) along the Hassayampa River near the Volvo Proving Grounds, approximately 15 miles (24 km) north of the planned I-10/I-11 interchange. From I-11 the route would run roughly eastward through northwestern Surprise, intersecting with Grand Avenue (US 60) at Jomax Road. From there, the freeway would replace the existing at-grade alignment of Grand Avenue and run concurrently until terminating at Loop 303.
